📚 “Literacy in secondary school must not simply be seen as a basket of general skills - it must be grounded in the specifics of each subject.”
This is according to our guidance on improving literacy in secondary schools.

Massive congrats to Mosman Junior Rugby Club open/U18s 7s team. A fantastic bunch of lads. Final game of the season today, capped off by Noah Gammon scoring a great try from his own half. Looking forward to next year. @MosmanHS

Sad to share that my ex-colleague and beautiful friend @pruwawn passed away after a battle with motor neuron disease. She taught me so much about life and art. She was fiercely passionate about the environment and the Greens. I am heartbroken 💚

What a surprise to see my former teacher Ms Marie Johanson today at @MosmanHS! Ms Johanson inspired me to become a teacher - she was and still is a phenomenal geography, legal studies, commerce & Economics teacher. Thank you Ms Johanson for the impact you’ve had on my life!

I had Year 8 come and give feedback and “invest” in the year 7 projects. The students had done the task last year and exclaimed that the examples this year were much better than theirs #entrepreneurs

A pair of young entrepreneurs in my class used @CanvaEdu to make a website for a product. They are making stickers that help friends be allergy aware of their friends, fulfilling another UN sustainable goal. Check out the mocked up site allergyaware.my.canva.site @MosmanHS

The energy of starting a new topic and not knowing if it is going to work is real. There is excitement and fear with the students cause they can’t quite see if their ideas will work… you always just need one group to make it unreal #stem

Sparking some creative thinking with the Year 7 @MosmanHS GATS class. The challenge was to “invent something with a potato” no parameters. We had potato fuel, potato housing and a potato forest for future paper making #GATS #edchat #playtolearn

Auld Lang Syne, the Scots-language poem written by Robert Burns in 1788, was set to a much older Scottish/Irish melody and is now sung all over the world to welcome the new year. Happy New Year from the west of Ireland!

O Holy Night.
Based on a French poem by Placide Cappeau, the song tells the story of the first Christmas Eve. It was first performed in a village in rural France in 1847 and is now sung on Christmas Eve all over the world.
Happy Christmas from the west of Ireland🎄
