Loyalty should never cost your peace, your mental health, or your spark. People can't thrive in survival mode; work should challenge you to grow, not force you to survive.

Received an outpouring of appreciation today for Boss’s Day. Blessed to do what I love.

I can't solve institutional racism, but I can teach students to the standard and not lower it depending on their background. If we do the equity work now, those bigger problems might start to solve themselves...

When you give people a place where their dignity is guarded, their bank accounts reflect their effort, and their craft expands, you don't merely retain employees—you cultivate unwavering devotion and world-class work.

A student can walk into a new room carrying a reputation they never had a chance to earn there. Educators share information for good reasons. A heads-up about safety, learning needs, triggers, successful supports, or a pattern that truly matters can help the next adult respond better. But there is a difference between useful context and a running commentary about who a student supposedly is. When we pass along frustration, labels, or predictions, the next teacher may start watching for the version of the student they were warned about. Give students the information-supported help they need, then give them room to show you who they are in your classroom.
