As many of you may have noticed, I have quite an obsession with #Shakespeare, but now you’re going to find out just how much!
This year, I want to challenge myself, so I’ve set myself the task of performing every piece in Allie Esiri’s Shakespeare For Every Day Of The Year from

Lubna Speitan, author of the Greens4Palestine motion “Zionism is racism”, spells out the central obscenity of our age – the grotesque inversion whereby the victims of ethnic cleansing, Apartheid and genocide must constantly fend off accusations from their tormentors that it is they who are the racists.
“We as Palestinians are being silenced and gaslit and vilified [as we] witness the annihilation, the cold-blooded murder of our families, of our people… our children burnt with phosphorus, having to endure amputations with no anaesthetic, having their limbs torn and shredded, their bodies burnt by phosphorus, being starved to death … And to have to sit here … and try to bury my feelings so I can eloquently and diplomatically shield my anger, my rage, my anguish that every Palestinian is feeling, is an insult.” /1

Behind the world’s technology lies Congolese suffering. Children as young as 7 risk their lives mining cobalt, while violence continues & our people pay the price. The world must not look away.Congo deserves justice, peace & freedom.

Daniel Bailey’s revival of Fences is one of the most powerfully-acted pieces of theatre I’ve seen!
As someone who saw Madeline Appiah’s show-stopping Hermione in the RSC’s Winter’s Tale, I knew she was perfect casting for Rose Maxson, and she really knocked it out of the park!
Ray Fearon is electrifying as Troy. He dominates the stage with an incredibly-committed intensity like an angry bull. He’s both charismatic and monstrous, brilliantly portraying all flawed sides of this King Lear-like character, and captures the rhythms of Wilson’s dialogue.
This really needs to be longer than 15 minutes!
Caryl Churchill’s Triumph at the Almeida is a short but haunting reflection of the absurd state the world is in, and also has a great performance (as always) from Kate O’Flynn!
Churchill uses the direct quotes of Suetonius from
I loved his performance in The Odd Couple 2!

After seeing #TheDebut yesterday at the Festival, I think we’re looking at one of the most exciting years for Best Song at the Oscars!
Jesse Eisenberg is bound to get at least 1 nomination, most likely for Julianne Moore’s 11 o’clock number: ‘This City May Have Chewed Me Up,
(But It Hasn’t Spit Me Out)’.
Adding to the competition, we’ve also got The Odyssey’s mystical When I’m Home (my favourite, so far), and Guitarricadelafuente looks set to steal hearts with his beautiful La Nieve from #LaBolaNegra!

The Statue of Marianne in Paris, France draped with a banner that says: “The police mutilate high school students.”
State violence against the people is never reported by the corporate media, making public protest essential to set the record straight!
THIS Scene……
Be prepared to see this become one of the most quoted/referenced scenes ever.
When you watch this, you’ll understand why Julianne Moore is getting mid-film ovations!
Also, Paul Giamatti’s face at the end of her monologue is priceless!

This is the best scene I’ve seen all year. Julianne Moore, the legendary actress that you are #LFF
Oh, HECK yeah….Julianne Moore better start preparing her 2nd Oscar speech! Yep, we burst into applause after her mid-film monologue, and it was WELL-Earned!
And in a just world, Paul Giamatti will finally be picking up his too!
Jesse Eisenberg really strikes gold with his
pastiche songs for the fictional musical at the centre of story, even the cast members (led by a luminous
Halle Bailey, who gets to show off her gorgeous vocals again) feel like they stepped right out of a Judy Garland-Mickey Rooney feature!
I love how both the opening
(Elsinore) and closing galas of this year’s London Film Festival are theatre-related. Feels like a moving reminder, in this era of AI on the rise, that we need human connection more than ever!

Susannah White has done a terrific job in adapting Suzie Miller’s hit Prima Facie.
After the fury over the Cornell story, this adaptation feels even more appropriately-timed.
Cynthia Erivo really deserves to be in the Best Actress Oscar race again (& not just to make up for that
character & the reliably-excellent Elliot Levey is superb as the prosecutor in the final courtroom scene which is a devastatingly powerful portrait of how the legal system fails sexual assault victims.
There’s a moment when Tessa says, in her speech to the judge; “Look to your
