A 12-year-old boy was abducted by a stranger and forced into a pickup truck in Florida. As the man sped down the road, the terrified boy struggled to escape, but the driver refused to let him go. Then, in a desperate attempt to save himself, the boy jumped from the moving truck, landing face-first on the pavement. But the driver kept going, unaware that two men had witnessed everything. Angel Perez and his coworker were driving nearby when they saw the boy tumble onto the road. As bystanders rushed to help the injured child, Angel stepped on the gas and chased the suspect onto Interstate 95. He refused to let the truck disappear. When the driver finally exited the highway, Angel and his coworker managed to block his vehicle. They confronted the suspect and pulled him from the truck, but he fought back. The two men body-slammed him to the ground and held him there until police arrived and took him into custody. The boy survived with injuries to his face and hands. And when he later spoke about the strangers who helped him, he had a heartfelt message. “I want to say thank you very much for stopping and helping me out, and I hope something great happens to you.” Angel was only on that road because he and his coworker had turned back to retrieve a forgotten tool. A small change in their day put them exactly where that little boy needed someone to be.
