It is 2026 incentives.
Britain drew the map. Oil majors learned the geology. The Fund still writes the respectable script for FX and subsidies. That is the inheritance.
Tinubu did not need an IMF programme. He delivered the script anyway,subsidy gone on day one, naira floated, oil fiscal terms sweetened for deep water. Shell exits the Delta onshore, keeps offtake and Bonga. Washington scores the Article IV. Lagos scores the pump price.
That is how the arrangement works in 2026,
Sometimes life becomes so heavy that you wonder how much longer you can keep going. You smile around people, but deep inside, you are fighting battles nobody knows about.
