WJEC GCSE media teachers desperate plea for any resources for unit 1 and unit 2 - no current teacher and having to plan cover work until November #HelpNeeded @Eduqas_Media
So grateful to the
@LNER team yesterday. Left my bag on the train containing 2 laptops and a tablet while changing at Stevenage. Daniel (station supervisor @GoviaThame73211 ?) and then LNER staff on the train, then at King's Cross helped to locate and secure it for me.
Some good news.
#NEPAL: This is incredible. 1,643 children survived because one headmaster acted fast when disaster was already on the way.
He received a warning that a village upstream had been swept away by the river. He immediately rang the school bell and moved the children and teachers to higher ground.
School buses were on the way to school, He called the bus drivers and told them: "Don't come here. Go back."
One school bus was already on its way. The headmaster saw it approaching the bridge and told the driver to turn back. The bus reached safety just before the bridge collapsed.
Then the flood hit the school. The entire three-storey school was washed away. It completely vanished. Not even a trace was left behind.
But all 1,643 children survived.
47 year old Rajendra Dadabi a teacher who became a hero when it mattered most. One man's quick thinking saved 1,643 lives.

A long shot, I know, but please share. My brother died on Boxing Day, and his beloved bike has been stolen. It is of tremendous sentimental value and we are desperate to get it back to his widow, who promised she would never get rid of it. A silver Reilly. Stolen Ruislip, Middx

The internet shutdown in Afghanistan happened in real time in my online poetry class on Monday. The women's accounts dropped out one by one. The last to go was Neda. Just before her image froze, I promised to put her poem on Twitter. She's 11. Online was her last hope of education. @WRNAfghanistan
Love this man.
