We are working hard on observing soil and comparing the different types of soil in our classroom. We even collected all the “ingredients” needed to make a good soil! Amelia brought in a sample of her compost from home. @LowryElementary @WeAreHAEST @HCPSElemScience
Science ROCKS! Since finding interesting rocks around the school yard can be challenging, we found ours in Easter eggs around the classroom! We also inferred where our rocks might have come from based on the properties. 🪨@LowryElementary @WeAreHAEST @HCPSElemScience
Our rock unit started with some “Sham-Rocks” Strange green rocks showed up in our classroom so we investigated the physical properties! 🍀We found that the “rock” sunk and then dissolved to reveal a floating gold coin! @LowryElementary @WeAreHAEST @HCPSElemScience
