October update 🎃 Pumpkin tag with the littles, monster ball & pass the broomstick with our big kids, and new squad leaders are just some of the fun things we have been up to in the VDV gym this month! #vdvPE

Our littles had a blast earning their locomotor licenses this week! It was such a fun way to assess the skills they have been working on during our locomotor unit 💛 🖤

Today we did an activity called locomotor land, where our students got to practice different locomotor movements while pretending to take a trip around Somerville. It was adorable to see our littles get excited to make real life connections as part of the activity!

September update! This month’s squad leaders, working on our three Cs (communication, collaboration, cooperation) in our teamwork unit, started our jogging challenge to gradually build our cardiovascular stamina. Lots going on in the VDV gym!

Giving out PE positives on Fridays to celebrate students who do a great job in class and using our behavior chart. Positive reinforcement in PE 💛 🖤

Game day! Our kiddos are ready

Started our teamwork unit! Our balloon challenge had students working together to gain points for their team by getting a balloon from point A to point B. You can see the modified version of the activity for students who may need it in the second video 💛 🖤

Alphabet based activities for preschool & self contained classes (not our original resource. We adapted this resource for our kiddos from another PE teacher ) 🖤 💛

For our first week we got our kiddos moving with a fun game of “Spot it, Nice to Meet You”. Introduce yourself to a partner, play spot it, winner does a victory lap. Great way to work on social skills and get students moving 🖤 💛#VDVpe
