Report from the eighth grade novel challenge @RMSHanover: we’ve officially passed 100k words!!! Actually just shy of 113k as of lunch time on day three. #NaNoWriMo
A great start this week @RMSHanover. Worked on Classroom Vision statements – what will make our class productive, safe, welcoming. Love kids’ brainstorms (swing in the classroom? Cookies every day?) and so impressed with what they collectively agreed on: (1/🧵)
Sample 3: “Our teacher should be patient, understanding, and respectful. They should help all students when they need it, and they should make fun and interesting lessons that include all students. Our teacher can also be a friend and someone we can talk to.” (4/🧵)
This new school year brings a new curriculum AND a new classroom @RMSHanover. Worked hard on the setup, and ready for the #firstdayofschool.
Just wrapped up two days of Mock Trials @RMSHanover based on the characters/story in Of Mice and Men. Students’ contributions were thoughtful, evidenced-based, and passionate in the face of a very challenging assignment. So thrilled at the outcomes.
This week in English @RMSHanover, we are preparing for our annual OMaM Mock Trial—Honorable Judge Hadden presiding.👩🏼⚖️
Totally blown away by these kids’ work! That’s more than 50,000 words collectively written in just 5 days. Don’t get me started on the brilliance of what the words actually say… SO impressed! #NaNoWriMo21 @RMSHanover
#NaNoWriMo21 Day 4 update – already over 30,000 words! Any predictions for our total by the end of the day today?
Day 3 of #NaNoWriMo21 and my students have already collectively written more than 17,000 words! I could not be more proud. @RMSHanover
