He’s actually HOF eligible starting this year. He should be in the Mariners HOF at a minimum.
🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨
WE HAVE OUR 100TH MEMBER!
Kyle Seager received 97% of 41,500 votes and is now officially the 100th Hall of Pretty Good inductee.
Seager, who was born on November 3rd, 1987, in California, was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 3rd round of the 2009 MLB Draft after a successful college career at UNC, where he was a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award. Seager would have a quick rise through the minor leagues and make his MLB debut on July 6th, 2011. This would jumpstart one of the most consistent and underrated careers in recent memory.
Seager would be a beacon of durability, only heading to the injured list once in his 11-year career. From 2012-2019, Seager always managed to hit at least 20 home runs in a season, a streak that was only stopped by the limited 60-game season in 2020. Had the season been played in full, he was on pace to reach 24 long balls, keeping pace with his consistent production.
Seager was a one-time All-Star and a one-time Gold Glove Award winner. He also received MVP votes in two different seasons (2014 and 2016). One of the most memorable things about Kyle Seager’s career was his notable final season, which saw him set career highs in home runs (35) and RBIs (101). After that power surge in 2021, he decided to hang up the cleats at the age of 33.
Kyle Seager is regarded as one of the best players in Mariners history, having been included on the team’s list of 50 best players to celebrate the Mariners’ 50th anniversary. At the time of his induction, Seager ranks 4th in games played in franchise history, 4th in hits, 4th in home runs, 3rd in doubles, and 4th in RBIs.
Seager grew up a Yankees fan and loved Derek Jeter. While Jeter received 97.75% of the Hall of Fame votes a few years ago, getting 97% of over 40,000 fan votes to become the 100th HoPG inductee sounds pretty good to me.
Congratulations to Mariners legend Kyle Seager!

The Seattle Mariners exercise closer Andres Munoz's $9 million option, but decline the options of starter Bryce Miller and outfielder Victor Robles, making them free agents beginning Monday.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Despite having his option declined, Bryce Miller is only arbitration eligible and will not become a free agent until after the 2029 season.

🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨
Kyle Seager has officially won the fan nomination vote and will get the chance to become the Hall of Pretty Good’s 100th inductee! His vote will take place this Wednesday at 3:30 PM.
Adley Rutschman hit a ball at 49° but 100.7 exit velo, in an outdoor stadium, and the ball went 356 feet. This out call is absolutely infuriating.
Classic front office scoop: a former first rounder + local kid. J&J couldn’t hit “claim” any faster.
Roster move:
🔹 Michael Toglia, INF/OF, claimed off waivers from the Cincinnati Reds.
The Mariners 40-man roster remains at 39 players.

first they make Dan fire himself on camera immediately following the Rizzs retirement, then release some pieces that should be sticking around. don’t even know what direction this organization is headed.
President of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto and General Manager Justin Hollander announced today the following coaching staff changes.

This season was such a bummer. There's nothing to really say that hasn't been echoed for months. Too many factors leading to failure. I hope lessons are learned and changes are made for next season, whenever that will be. Gonna tune in for Rick's last calls. Goms.
Mariners part-owner Ken Griffey Jr., on radio with Rick Rizzs, discussed the state of the club:
Dan Wilson is out at Mariners manager.
Jerry Dipoto and Justin Hollander are scheduled to lead an end-of-season press conference Monday.

The kid who grew up watching Wilson really hates seeing this be the legacy he's leaving to those who didn't. Unfortunately, that's the risk when assuming a managerial role.
Sources: Dan Wilson informed the Mariners’ clubhouse this morning that he will not be returning to his role in 2027.
