So glad this paper is finally online! We found no differences in math anxiety across overt and covert timing conditions but students reported higher math anxiety on complex problems compared to simple problems.
Its out! Overall students report higher math anxiety on complex math tasks and no differences on overt or covert timed conditions. Students with med/high math anxiety report more math anxiety on complex tasks under covert timing. @kathrinmaki

Our paper on "groupitizing" is now out:
mitpressjournals.org/doi/ful…
The results show that even a simple dot enumeration task, when the dots can be grouped, involves mental arithmetic and provides an implicit measure of multiplication.
New preprint from the lab: "Grouping mechanisms in numerosity perception".
We investigate the perception of exact number in dot arrays and show that it involves an implicit multiplication, at least when the dots are grouped ("groupitizing").
