The student precinct in Mowbray dropped a plot twist! 🤯
#LGE2026
Right in the middle of Cape Town’s leafy southern suburbs corridor, the EFF takes a commanding lead in a Mowbray voting district. Student concentration + campus residence demographics = a red pocket right in the heart of traditional DA territory.
Cape Town's political geography isn't just blue... it’s getting very fragmented, VD by VD! 📚🇿🇦

Alexandra finally starting to come in:
Tent at Juskei Park:
ANC 29% (-26)
ActionSA 25% (+7)
DA 17% (+11)
MK 11% (+11)
EFF 7% (-9)
Turnout 50% (+8)
ANC coming in a little stronger, DA a little stronger and ActionSA a little weaker than Soweto. But still roughly in line.

Two successive ANC NECs stood by as the National Treasury enforced austerity budgets. The primary driver of the ANC's electoral decline isn't arrogance or poor service delivery, it is the Treasury's persistent fiscal austerity.
There were no last months service delivery push.

When we reflect about the current state of ANC we must not forget the generation of Malusi Gigaba, Fikile Mbalula, DD Makhura, Vuyiswa Tulelo, Febe Potgieter, P. Majodina, Sihle Zikalala, Stella Ndabeni, Mahlengi Bhengu, Mzwandile Masina, Andile Lungisa. A generation of cowards.

I seem to recall the EFF fighting against the VAT increase, pushing to end data expiry from telecommunications providers, tabling the Insourcing Bill, and tabling the Student Debt Cancellation Bill—all since the 2024 elections . Yet because they don't sing "abahambe," you claim they aren't prioritizing South Africans? Ehh

Yeah maybe I’m bitter but my conscience is ok with us losing with our principles in tact. Dr T didn’t run her campaign on lies and bigotry. And if we have to fall on that sword, I’m ok.

WATCH | ANC national chairperson Gwede Mantashe says smaller political parties are not competing to govern but are acting as spoilers, seeking to corrode and undermine the political process. He also says the work done by the ANC over the past 30 years is often overlooked.
