If the US wants to be objective in helping end the long running Rwanda/DRC face-off in Eastern Congo, then sanctioning only one side will not help. The Tshisekedi Govt has its own proxies that threaten Rwanda, so why not sanction all the troublemakers?

Mandated by African Union leaders in 2016 to lead the AU institutional reform process, President Kagame championed reforms aimed at making the Union more effective, accountable, financially sustainable and capable of addressing Africa’s challenges.
One major outcome was revitalizing the AU Peace Fund, strengthening Africa’s capacity to finance its own peace and security priorities. By 2024, the Fund had mobilized nearly $400 million.
This is Pan-Africanism translated into institutions, financing, and African ownership.
