Masculinity is massively misunderstood. I can assure you that no one watches Man United games from peer pressure.

It was a pleasure to visit Nigeria’s Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa alongside colleagues from the World Bank to advance our shared advocacy for Early Childhood Development (ECD). Our engagement reaffirmed the importance of investing in the early years of every child’s life as a foundation for lifelong learning, improved health, and human capital development.
We emphasized the need for stronger partnerships, sustained commitment, and strategic investments to ensure that every Nigerian child has access to quality early learning, nurturing care, adequate nutrition, and a safe environment to thrive. Investing in our youngest children today is investing in Nigeria’s future.

Following the confirmation of an imported case of Ebola in Abuja, I urge Nigerians to remain calm, vigilant and guided by accurate information from the NCDC and other trusted public health authorities.
As a public health leader and former Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), I was actively involved in Nigeria’s successful containment of the 2014 Ebola outbreak, including the deployment of the polio Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) infrastructure.
That experience demonstrated the value of strong surveillance, rapid response, effective coordination and community engagement. Nigeria has the institutional experience and public health expertise to respond effectively, but success requires sustained commitment and cooperation from all stakeholders.
We must protect healthcare workers, strengthen infection prevention and control, promptly identify and safely manage suspected cases, and support contact tracing. Federal and state authorities, health professionals, development partners and communities must work together to prevent further transmission.
Everyone has a role to play: practise good hand hygiene, avoid contact with the blood and other body fluids of suspected cases, and promptly seek guidance from health authorities if you believe you may have been exposed. Do not spread unverified information or stigmatise affected individuals or communities.
We have confronted Ebola before. With vigilance, coordinated action, public trust and collective responsibility, Nigeria can rise to this challenge again.

PRESS STATEMENT
STAY INFORMED. STAY SAFE.
Public health is a shared responsibility, and the right information helps us all stay safe.
The Federal Government, working with the NCDC and relevant health authorities, is taking the necessary steps to protect public health and strengthen surveillance following the confirmation of an Ebola disease case in the FCT.
There is no need for panic. What matters is staying informed, practising good hand hygiene, knowing the symptoms and seeking guidance from public health authorities if you suspect exposure.
📌 Remember: Ebola spreads through direct contact with the blood or body fluids of an infected person who is sick or has died, or contaminated materials. It does not spread before symptoms begin.
For reliable information or to report a suspected case, call the NCDC toll-free line 6232, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Let’s stay calm, rely on verified information and do our part to keep our communities safe.

🚨Michael Carrick will always be a Manchester United legend. Nothing will ever change that.
But I’m starting to think this job is too big for him right now. Yes, the board have let him down, but we can’t keep using that as an excuse for everything happening on the pitch.
Mazraoui at left centre-back, Yoro at right-back and Dalot at left-back. Three defenders playing out of their natural positions. That’s down to Carrick and his coaching decisions.
And that second half..Absolutely awful. No urgency, no clear plan and some baffling decisions from the bench.
I wanted Carrick to succeed more than anything, but I’m struggling to see how he turns this around. Something needs to change, and FAST!!

🚨We desperately need a goal with 15 minutes left, and Carrick STILL hasn’t brought on Cunha, Lacey or Rashford.
Absolutely baffling substitutions and game management from Michael Carrick.
What is he waiting for?!
