School buses hit the road across West Region next week as students head back to school. Drivers, please keep your eyes on the road and avoid distractions within the vehicle. Watch for pedestrians, cyclists and school buses, in particular when the lights are flashing (See video below). Let's all do our part to ensure #BackToSchool2024 goes as smooth as possible. #OPP ^jh

Failing to stop for school buses is illegal and puts children at risk. The #OPP reminds everyone to stay alert and follow the rules of the road
• Stop when school bus red lights are flashing
• Leave at least 20 metres when stopped behind a bus
• Obey the stop-sign arm and flashing lights before moving again
• Pay attention to reduced speed limits in school zones, neighbourhoods and areas with high foot traffic
These rules apply year-round. Learn more: ontario.ca/document/official…
