Here’s the situation with controllers for iPhone Duo 🎮
There are USB-C and Bluetooth options.
USB-C controllers work with Duo in portrait mode, but not in landscape, since the USB-C connector ends up facing the side of the phone where there’s no port.
So I bought a separate Bluetooth controller without a USB-C connector. It fits Duo perfectly in landscape mode when unfolded, but doesn’t close far enough to hold Duo vertically.

This is S9V Type-C Mobile Controller for @getVITURE Glasses (abxylute.com/products/s9v-fo…)
But you can get any other similar mobile controller without the glasses functionality if you don’t have them.

someone is turning switch games into native iphone apps
no traditional emulator needed
94 game profiles already available, including zelda and mario

Nintendo Switch games are running on iPhones.
And the surprising part?
It isn't an emulator.
NX2Apple takes your own Switch game dumps and builds them into native apps that can run on Apple silicon.
The project is based on nxnative, which rewrites the game's code to run natively on Apple hardware while translating Nintendo's graphics system to Apple's Metal.
And now, it has a Mac launcher that makes the whole process much easier.
• Pick your Switch game
• Choose Mac or iPhone/iPad
• Let the launcher build it
• Install the resulting app
• Play using touch controls or a controller
No terminal required for the normal workflow.
The project already has profiles for 94 games.
Some highlights:
• Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
• Hades II
• Animal Crossing: New Horizons
• Super Mario Odyssey
• Breath of the Wild
• Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Tears of the Kingdom has even been verified on iPhone in this fork.
There are limitations, though.
Not every Switch game is supported yet, and large games can hit iOS memory limits.
You also need your own game dumps and keys. NX2Apple doesn't provide them.
But the bigger idea is fascinating.
Instead of emulating an entire Switch, NX2Apple is trying to make the game's own code run on Apple hardware.
Switch games.
Native Apple execution.
On an iPhone.
How far do you think projects like this can push mobile gaming?

Hi,
Although I could keep going forever, here's the 3rd and final part of what I'm working on for the iPhone Duo.
I've had this idea for some time now, from before I made multiplayer via remote play and cloud streaming function.
Back then I had my focus on split screen remote play which would let you run multiple remote play/cloud streaming session at the same time.
This functionality has been in Asobi for some time now, but never really did much of it since it kinda became pointless when I shipped multiplayer.
Thing is, sometimes you just want to play a game with your friend or loved one but are missing an extra controller.. and I had the split-screen tech anyway, which means that with the iPhone Duo you'll be able to add a 2nd pair of virtual controls AND view the screen on opposite sides, which means: multiplayer fun anywhere, anytime, anyhow..
It's all fully functional and I hope you'll like it when it drops!
Oh, and you might want to check the last couple images in the gallery, I've made use of the outside screen as well when playing on the inside one.
Which means that with an extra pair of controls you could kinda sit opposite of each other and play! I'm still unsure how practical it is though.. and if this is OK with Apple, but we'll see!
Either way, I'm gonna go back and squash some bugs and do some fixes. Still have quite some stuff to drop this week. Can't wait to ship this!
Enjoy!

P.S. Multiplayer split screen will come to Android and iPads as well!
P.P.S. Btw, who's ready for some Asobi 2.0? 👀👀👀

ICYMI: I added Duo support for Five Star Port few days ago + lots of performance and stability improvements in past few days!
and thanks Ben for making such a beautiful demo video for it and showing it off, looks absolutely gorgeous
we rly got a foldable iPhone that can run GTA 5 before GTA 6 😂
Playing GTA V on iPhone Duo. This is insane!
Max graphics settings, near native resolution, and the A20 Pro is pushing around 40-60 FPS.
The adaptive touch controls are surprisingly comfortable, too. Much easier than the Android emulators I’ve tried, where I really needed a physical controller to enjoy playing.
This is Five Star Port, a free, fan-made project that runs GTA V locally on iPhone, iPad and Mac using your own game files. Story mode and free roam. No cloud streaming.
Battery drain works out to roughly 15% per 30 minutes based on my testing so far. Duo definitely gets hot, but cools down quickly once I stop playing.
GTA V on a thin foldable iPhone. We’ve come a long way. Wow.
