If it's a standard investment agreement between the government and Dangote, why not disclose it then?
President Ruto has defended Dangote’s acquisition of shares in Kenya Pipeline Company, saying the shares are available on the NSE for anyone to buy. He dismissed demands to disclose the deal, describing it as a standard investment agreement, and warned of a crackdown on alleged racketeering surrounding the transaction.

Standard Group has appointed John Bundotich as Acting Group CEO, effective 1 November 2026, replacing Chaacha Mwita, who resigned after seven months. Bundotich, currently Acting Editor-in-Chief, has over 25 years of media experience.
Standard Group CEO Chaacha Mwita has resigned effective 1 Nov 2026, just 7 months after his substantive appointment (April 2026). He succeeded Marion Gathoga-Mwangi as Acting CEO effective 1 July 2025 (she resigned effective 30 June 2025 after roughly one year in the role). This continues high leadership turnover at the media group amid ongoing losses, a suspended ~KES1.5B rights issue and unpaid government advertising bills. No reason or successor disclosed.
