Player of the day 🇬🇪 - Irakli Yegoian (19-03-2004) ⚽️ - Excelsior 💰 - € 1.800.000 (Transfermarkt) Yegoian is a 1.68m-tall midfielder who is particularly comfortable playing as a number 10.

I really liked Quinten Timber in yesterdays match. Showed a lot of power in his play and opened up the play with some quick and smart turns. I don't really understand why some people say he isn't good enough for the Netherlands, I mean he showed he is yesterday.

✔️ - Physically developed. For his age, he is already physically strong and knows how to use his body well in duels, for example to shield the ball. He also has good acceleration, which allows him to cause problems for defenders when attacking the space in behind.

✔️ - Sharp turns. When he receives the ball, he can turn quickly and sharply to find space. He managed to find the right solution in many situations, although on a few occasions he turned into pressure instead. He uses his body very well in these situations to shield the ball.

✔️ - Big engine. During the match against Union he was very active in his pressing runs as well as his runs searching for space behind the opponents defence. It looks like he has an excellent engine and is never afraid to put in the hard yards throughout a game.

Antwerp hasn't started the season well in Belgium, but they do have an interesting team talent wise. I really like the skillset of Modibo Fofana (18 🇨🇮) who they picked up in the Ivory Coast.

The Catalans are genuinely one of those teams you turn the TV on for simply because they’re so enjoyable to watch. I really hope Frenkie de Jong can find his way back into the picture for our national team as well, although that certainly won’t be easy. #FCBarcelona

Raphinha as a striker is quite the invention. The Brazilian is obviously incredibly technical and quick, but the composure he shows whenever he receives the ball inside the box is particularly impressive. His positioning and finishing are also getting better and better.

The speed, precision and technical quality with which FC Barcelona attack is genuinely incredible to watch. Everything happens so quickly and with such precision. As an opponent, you almost know for certain that you're going to concede goals against them.

Yegoian is definitely one of the players to keep an eye on in the Eredivisie. If he continues to develop, I don’t think a move to a mid-table club in a top European league would be out of the question in the future.

At Excelsior, he often looks to attack the space in behind and loves taking on defenders at pace in 1v1 situations. This season, he has really developed into the architect of Excelsior’s play and is capable of taking the team by the hand when needed.

As a defender, you absolutely don’t want to find yourself in a 1v1 against Yegoian. He has a very quick, tight turning radius and can use his body movements to change direction at the very last moment.

However, he also holds his own defensively in midfield. The midfielder has already recorded 42 recoveries, including seven interceptions in the opponent’s final third. He has also made 26 defensive contributions and won 39 duels, although his success rate is only 40.6%.

STATS 20-09-2026 He has already made seven appearances this season, scoring twice and providing five assists. The midfielder particularly stands out in an attacking sense. He has already created 16 chances this season, taken 15 shots and completed 15 dribbles (53.6%).

Nolhan Courtens (19 🇧🇪) is a great pick up bij Sc Heerenveen and he is breakinh through this year. Smart midfielder with an excellent engine. #Heerenveen

Well, there we go!

Kostoulas (Brighton) Pavlidis (Benfica) Karetsas & Konstantelias (Dortmund) Tzolis (Arsenal) Douvikas (Como) Not a bad strike force at all!

Charalampos Kostoulas (19 🇬🇷) is adapting very nicely to the Premier League at Brighton. When the Dortmund boys are fit again, Greece will be a force to watch with all their talent. The next World Cup must be possible right? #Brighton

Very nice to see that Sean Steur (18 🇳🇱) is gathering some needed experience in the Premier League. Covering a lot of distance and comfortable on the ball. Still a bit sloppy sometimes. Wil be interesting to see if Xavi has Steur on his radar. #Newcastle
