30 years ago today our epic 2+ month road trip across the U.S. ended after the last day of the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. Mackie and I put 17,000 miles on my Mazda and covered all four corners of the country. We are lucky to live in USA. Here's to our 250th!
Hiking near the soccer fields at Riverside Park in Zanesville, OH last weekend. Spent many hours playing on the field to the right in the mid-80's with ZHS.
Backpacking trip on the Benton McKaye Friday night. Nice break from Atlanta‘s scorching heat this weekend!
The Appalachian Trail ridge in North Georgia from Lake Burton last weekend with Jupiter, Venus, and Mercury in the night sky.

Did some legit hiking at The Canyon At Pond Creek last weekend near Pikesville, Tennessee. Fascinating place to hike, climb and/or fish. Bonus is you can rent a high end Yurt and enjoy the night sky from your private hot tub at the end of the day.
Went to “wilderness” church this weekend at Saint Peter Chanel and did the loop around the Blessed Trinity campus. Nice to see the rebirth and Spring in action.
Our campsite #86 in the Smokies at Proctor. Once a logging community with 1000 people- now a ghost town that was cut off by the creation of Fontana Lake.
