Is Neo Waking Up? Some may not agree, but this is probably the most bullish tweet about Neo I've seen in a while. It was the first time in many years that we've seen anyone from Neo admit that the situation is not good. Until now, people have tried to sell you Neo as if everything were fine, even though it has constantly declined since 2021. Without recognizing its failures and weaknesses, Neo will never grow, just as it hasn't for the last few years. Many things in the ecosystem deserve attention. The current governance system, for instance, is dominated by groups that offer little, if anything, to the ecosystem. They earn almost 4,000 GAS per month and deliver nothing. Since voting for other candidates does not generate GAS, these members will remain in their positions, draining resources indefinitely. Moreover, some communities 'exploit' their relationship with Neo to convince the organization to spend over a million USD on projects that don't promote Neo but instead promote themselves. This leads to high customer acquisition costs and low retention rates (near zero, if not zero). Without proper governance mechanisms, new players are only allowed to enter if they are 'permitted' by the existing power structure. This has killed any potential for independent initiatives within the ecosystem. In general, Neo has invested heavily in its communities, but they haven't contributed back. Groups earn thousands of dollars to maintain tools that haven't received a single code update in the last two months. Nobody gets paid based on results; communities will earn their funding regardless of their contributions. Since these communities rely on Neo to stay as Consensus Nodes (earning 4,000 GAS per month) plus the contracts, they don't dare to tell people the truth. As I've seen before, those who dare to say a word about Neo face heavy criticism from the elected consensus node members. The excuses for Neo's poor performance are always external as if the results were purely based on luck. Likely, the top ownership isn't aware of all the problems in Neo. They receive information filtered by the people who earn a lot of money and have absolutely no interest in showing the facts as they are. They should hide behind a fictitious 'success' and only pass their sponsors 'good news.' This message gives us hope that Neo may finally wake up to its reality.
