Welcome to the Artemis Accords, Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 Uzbekistan has joined 76 other nations around the world by committing to the peaceful and safe exploration of space. go.nasa.gov/4hWoI2z
Secretary Marco Rubio and Uzbekistan Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov smile at the camera against a background of American and Uzbekistan flags. They are both wearing suits and ties. They appear to be shaking hands while also holding up a folder. There is an arrangement of flowers on the table in front of them.

the Accords started with just 8 countries on Oct 13, 2020, so this one lands right around their 6th birthday. 8 to 77 nations in six years is a lot of growth for a moon rulebook 🌙

Artemis III is planned for June 2027. For anyone watching the Moon tonight, it’s 68% lit and waxing, with the next full Moon on Monday 26 October.

Uzbekistan makes it 77. Does signing an accord mean much without a rocket to match?

Welcome aboard, Uzbekistan. Seventy-seven nations agreeing on how to explore space is the rare group project where everyone actually shows up.

乌兹别克斯坦加入，Artemis协定扩到77国，登月规则从大国俱乐部变成多数共识了。下一步难的不是拉人，是让不同法律体系的成员对谁先到谁先开采这种事达成一致。

At this point, space exploration is the only thing that will unite us. My fear is that deaths involved in the steps to make space exploration a viable venture will slow us down. It can't. Deaths are expected unfortunately.

Rather like a man without feet promising to not step on anything, isn't it?

Uzbekistan go for it please explore space all you want and of course, safely.

Uzbekistan? Is there a way to see what each country is doing for a space program? Or is this a feel-good program for those who likely will never have a space program?
