Swedenborg explicitly treats idol worship and sun/moon worship as corruptions to be corrected, not practices to embrace. He explains that very ancient peoples used symbolic "correspondences" which later degenerated into literal paganism and idolatry. He explicitly condemns pagan/idolatrous worship, rather than practicing or promoting it. ES's writing centers entirely on Jesus Christ as Jehovah God himself, the one and only ruler and creator and organizer of heaven. Pages, after pages after pages and yet more pages of exactly only this. and nothing else. Paganism is a temporary detour. Emanuel Swedenborg (not Eugene) is fascinating to read and he dismantles and annihilates the Christian church, all denominations of it, yes! But not Jesus Christ. Turns the Bible inside out and upside down, but out of the current Christian interpretations in vogue. Not to paganism. Best place to start would be to read "Heaven and Hęll". matches and explains every near death experience and spiritual experience & there are today millions of these, simple and elaborate.

Emanuel Swedenborg "Heaven and Hëll" was declared a heretic precisely cause he dismantled the organised church, so the organised church smeared and canceled him. He makes Jesus come alive & same as God the Father and explained in an analytical manner exactly what happens after we die. P.S. God doesn't send anyone to hęll, the people who don't want to be cooperative and kind in heaven go to hěll of their own accord cause they hate heaven and hate God.
