Spoke to @BLaw re: another fed case assignment debacle in Texas. As I argue in my forthcoming (in 2 wks!) @NCLRev article Constitutional Case Assignment, 28 USC 137 doesn't necessarily give a single chief judge this kind of power. papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.… news.bloomberglaw.com/us-law…

A wonderful thread about Julius Chambers — one of America’s best lawyers of the second half of the 1900s. Chambers is the reason I am a NCian. My parents moved us to Charlotte in 1967 so my dad Adam could join Chambers and James Ferguson to form NC’s first integrated law firm. ❤️
Today, on what would have been his 86th birthday, we celebrate Julius Chambers, a civil rights legend who was the first Black editor-in-chief of the N.C. L. Rev. 🧵(1/16)

“Redemption Localism” is now out @NCLRev’s symposium on Home Rule. It tells the story of localism in the South between 1875-1900. Redeemers manipulated the levers of localism to protect and perpetuate white supremacy. We still live with the results. papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.…

Nice shoutout to @NCLRev in this article about @randersenjones @sonjarwest’s important — and disturbing — new article about #SCOTUS’s deteriorating view of the news media. This doesn’t bode well for our democracy.
