Behind every image is a child who deserves to be identified. Recently, NCMEC hosted a week-long Victim Identification Operation, sponsored by @MagnetForensics, bringing together 40 victim identification specialists representing 36 local, state, federal, and international law enforcement agencies. Throughout the week, participants reviewed more than 400 series of CSAM, working together to uncover information that could help identify the children depicted. Those efforts resulted in 182 referrals to law enforcement, including 83 domestic and 99 international referrals. Participants also reviewed more than 570 additional series depicting possible new content connected to previously submitted CyberTipline reports, helping determine whether children had already been identified or whether additional victim identification efforts were needed. Operations like this demonstrate what is possible when expertise, technology, and collaboration come together with a shared purpose: identifying children, supporting investigations, and helping bring victims one step closer to safety. We are grateful to every specialist who participated and to Magnet Forensics for supporting this important work.
