How many cars, houses, and private jets does one person need?
Extreme wealth has warped the ultra-rich’s sense of “enough” and they continue to chase more at the expense of everyone else. When wealth takes over, the braking system stops working.
That’s why we tax the rich.

“The death penalty carries a risk no system can remedy: executing an innocent person. Neither post-mortem evidence nor formal apology can repair such a catastrophic error.” - Christina Swarns, Innocence Project Executive Director
Today, Governor Gavin Newsom commuted the death sentences of all 548 people on California’s death row. No one in California will be executed for a crime they didn’t commit.
Since 1989, six people condemned to death in California have been exonerated. Nationwide, more than 200 people have been exonerated from death row.
The governor’s decision saves lives and brings us closer to a legal system that is fair, compassionate, and equitable for everyone.

❌ MYTH: Crime victims support long prison sentences.
✅ REALITY: Most victims of violence want violence prevention. Harm is real, but mass support for mass incarceration is not.

ALT Graph results showing results from a 2022 national survey of 1,500 who reported crime victimization within the past 10 years. Most favor alternatives to incarceration: 75% prefer restorative justice, 80% prefer more mental-health treatment, 72% support incentives for pre-release rehabilitation, and 71% support reducing jail populations.

It's World Homeless Day, and I'll just say: Homelessness isn't some mystery. People are homeless because they don't have homes.
This suffering persists not for lack of solutions, but because vast wealth and power are invested in maintaining the very structures that produce it.
