Devastating reports that more than 500 people, most of them Rohingya refugees, may have drowned at sea. No one should have to risk their lives in search of safety. Behind every number is a life, a family, and a story cut short. We must do more to ensure that people fleeing conflict and persecution can find safety without risking their lives.
More than 500 people are feared to have been aboard two boats that reportedly capsized off the coast of Myanmar. Most were Rohingya passengers risking dangerous sea journeys in search of safety. We and IOM are deeply concerned by these reports and call for stronger efforts to save lives.

One year after #CEDAW’s review of Afghanistan 🇦🇫, women and girls still face systematic oppression: denied education, work, public life, movement and justice. Their rights are non-negotiable. De facto authorities must repeal all discriminatory measures now ohchr.org/sites/default/file…

Refugee law specialist Nik Tan has published a book titled 'Territorial Asylum'. What does this concept mean and to what extent does it offer a new means of providing refugees with protection? My thoughts here: rli.blogs.sas.ac.uk/2026/06/…
