🤝 Following yesterday’s storm in McCaysville, 𝗙𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 staff visited affected facilities where access was possible and contacted facilities with limited access by email. They will continue working with affected permitted facilities to support safe reopening. Staff also coordinated with authorities, assisted at the shelter, and supported other agencies. 𝗚𝗶𝗹𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 reached out to local restaurants to offer assistance, and Environmental Health colleagues across the district offered their support. 🚨 Early Thursday, our 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 connected with the Fannin Emergency Management Agency (EMA) to identify potential public health resource needs and to assess whether it was safe for our local facilities to open.
