Whenever I hear #GothamAwards, this is still the image that comes to mind.
It’s awesome that James Ortiz, the voice and main puppeteer for Rocky in #ProjectHailMary, is being campaigned for Best Supporting Actor. However, I also feel that he should’ve been included in the Best Visual Effects category.
I realize he wasn’t a visual effects supervisor and Neal Scanlan, the film’s creature effects creative supervisor, is deservedly recognized here. Still, Ortiz brought the effect to life. To me, Ortiz is to “Project Hail Mary” what Richard Williams was to “Roger Rabbit.”
Williams was included when that film won Best Visual Effects. He also got an Honorary Oscar. Maybe Ortiz deserves an Honorary Oscar too, or better yet, let’s get him that Supporting Actor nomination! cartooncontender.com/news-an…

#Clayface might not surpass the “Batman: TAS” episodes that set the gold standard, but it deserves to be used in the same sentence. The film succeeds by going all in on its body horror and hard R rating, working as an inventive revenge thriller. Definitely a feat of makeup.
