💥 NEW: Prepare for food shortages and disruption, Wes Streeting warns, on day one of three year campaign to make the public more resilient. Britons should have enough food, water, cash and medical supplies to last three days. Make a "grab bag" in case you have to leave home and keep essentials in the car boot. If you have a baby, make sure you have enough baby formula and nappies. Dan Jarvis, the security minister, says: "Those who can flow this advice should" thetimes.com/article/5971929…

This work by @Scarlett__Mag for the @FT should put an end to speculation about an election next year. Voters want Andy Burnham to do something for them. That takes time. He would risk his reputation, his support, and his majority in rushing to a vote. giftarticle.ft.com/giftartic…

Rahmeh Aladwan is a doctor in Britain. She wants people who blaspheme against Islam to be killed. I wrote to the General Medical Council calling for her to be struck off. They have now confirmed that she is under investigation for her statement.

When President Trump says we need to find a compromise – we live with this. A ceasefire and sitting down at the negotiating table – it is a huge compromise. Nobody can step into the shoes of all these people whose children were tortured. And you can't force people to forgive. How can you force them when their child was tortured? How do you forgive? It's impossible. I desperately want justice. I just really want. I know so many people had their hearts ripped out, and there won't be a new heart. That's why we say a ceasefire is the only step, because people’s hatred isn't going anywhere. It takes time and justice. And that's why it's a huge compromise. I've tried many times to tell the President of the United States: understand us. This is a huge compromise just to hold the lines where we are. Trump can bring Putin to the negotiating table very easily. The way President Trump talks about me, he needs to adopt that kind of rhetoric about Putin. The United States and Israel have simulated new strikes on Iran by flying at Tehran’s borders, according to reports. Most recently on Monday, the Israel Defense Forces deployed dozens of fighter jets on an exercise that followed a flight path consistent with a potential strike against Iran🔗 telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2…

This is a ticking time bomb what happens when you retire or lose your job when you private rent? My rent is £900 pcm Housing benefit would cover half of that. I live in a very small 2 bed terrace. The only thing cheaper is a HMO. Housing is such a basket case.
My latest column @theipaper: With the number of pensioner renters forecast to grow, there may be a risk hidden in Andy Burnham's triple lock changes... Rents are rising faster than housing benefit and, in years to come, probably the state pension too... inews.co.uk/opinion/time-hou…

Who is representing Britain abroad? In November 2025 we discovered the National Security Advisor had travelled to Beijing to meet with Wang Yi, the Chinese Communist Party’s Foreign Minister. No British Government record of this meeting was published. Instead, the CCP informs us our National Security Advisor emphasized China’s role in the world and the Labour Government’s hopes of a deeper relationship. No democratic mandate as an unelected special advisor. No transparency as only the Chinese side published a record of the meeting. No scrutiny as he refuses to appear in front of Parliamentary Committees. Perhaps we should ask the National Security Advisor’s wife to tweet a record of what was discussed?

Another week and another PMQs: Mr Burnham and Mrs Badenoch haven’t really had any major zingers yet, preferring a sort of boring pas de deux. One gets the sense they’re still sizing each other up. Mrs Badenoch decided to lead with congratulations for the Prime Minister as the government finally approved the Jackdaw oil field after years of politically expedient dithering and judicial meddling. It was a surreal moment. The Tories cheered the announcement of a government policy, while the Labour benches were muted. Lucy Powell would have looked happier had she trodden in dog muck. ✍️ Madeline Grant Article | spectator.com/article/the-co…

Before: tankers filled Iran’s main oil-loading terminal. After: no crude tankers in sight. Kharg Island is now nothing more than a monument to the one thing the Iranian regime can still produce: failure. The regime’s arrogance and belligerence continue to punish ordinary Iranians. Operation Economic Outcast is cutting off the regime’s oil lifeline, denying it resources to fund terrorism, nuclear procurement, and the lavish lifestyles of the IRGC elite.

Reminder: just yesterday we learned that: A) a former ISIS guard for a beheading squad came to yookay illegally on a boat, obviously because of the ECHR/HRA he can't be jailed or deported, living freely; B) SAS guys sent on missions to deal with ISIS beheaders were then arrested for MURDER for dealing with them; they were lied to by the military police; they have been told they can never be clear of the charges (because the ECHR/HRA means any time some lawyer like Jolyon or Hermer wants to team up with nutters on a ECHR case, the government will be forced to investigate again and remember Hermer's friend *invented* war crimes to bring cases against British soldiers, but obviously wasn't jailed, triples all round in the Inner Temple). So we're importing the jihadis at scale while prosecuting for murder SAS we rely on to defend us from the jihadis - and if you don't like this you're fascist and it's a reason to ban X in yookay. No you will not see Kemi-kasi campaign on these issues because the Tories agreed with Labour for 25 years that this combination is 'defending civilisation'. The Tories imported many of the jihadis now in the news, and the Tories approved all the worst officials and lawyers in SW1 bringing the lawfare cases, including against those who were given medals by the Queen for stopping IRA terrorist attacks - they now have to beg for cash for lawyers in their 70s/80s. And because Reform is a bin fire which can't maintain focus on anything for 2 minutes -- like Kemi-kasi -- you probably won't see anything sustained from them either.

Ukraine is not Russia. That's Putin’s problem – refusing to recognize a separate nation, refusing to recognize a separate country – that's what did him in. He was shown a military operation that was supposed to take three days. We found parade uniforms in their various military vehicles. They were literally marching to a parade. He still doesn't understand and doesn't want to admit that this is a different nation, a different people. They were advancing on Kyiv from all directions. Their main goal was to seize the capital of Ukraine. They reached Kyiv. They trapped us, and then we started hammering them, and they didn't know what to do about it. They were especially shocked when they drove toward the capital and people were just throwing burning mixtures. People were setting their armor on fire. It wasn't a matter of some general being an idiot. I believe the one who gave the order just didn't fully realize what was happening. Because what does taking Kyiv mean? When you've taken those towns on the way to Kyiv, you have to leave troops behind to hold those towns. And that takes a huge number of people. It's a pretty large territory. If the people inside offer resistance, then you need an army to hold every town. That was their mistake. They didn't even realize there would be resistance. That was their main mistake. That's it. I’m sure Channel 4 will be inviting on other party leaders to this episode? As a publicly funded broadcaster they must be acutely aware of impartiality rules. Personally, I’d prefer it the PM just got on with his actual job instead of desperately trying to become a celebrity.

BREAKING A political row has broken out over Andy Burnham's decision to go on Channel 4’s programme ‘Gogglebox’. A Conservative source tells me that Kemi Badenoch should be invited on to the show. One says: "It's Channel 4's job to ensure political balance." Nigel Farage appeared on Gogglebox when he was leader of the UK Independence Party in December 2014. A spokesman for Reform UK says: "Nigel has done it before and would happily do it again." More with me now on @GBNEWS.
