From Two Rooms to Many: NTN’s Expanding Creative Home by Alma Ulamba, General Manager, National Theatre of Namibia

On this Day of the African Child, we honour the brave young voices of 1976 and celebrate today’s youth creativity and spirit.
This year, NTN has been buzzing with young energy, from first-time performers on stage to thousands of learners experiencing live theatre.
We’ve brought theatre into schools, welcomed hundreds of learners to our space, and hosted an international youth exchange, turning ideas into performance. These moments remind us that the arts are vital for learning, growth, and expression.
Namibia Remembers Its Genocide
On this day, we pause to reflect and honour the memory of the Nama and Ovaherero people whose lives were lost between the 1904-1908 genocide.
