Is any other sculptor in America making art as heroic as @SabinHoward is?

Foams are ready to be shipped to the studio in Texas for the first scene of the grand liberty arch. The first figure on the right is George Washington. The composition will be sculpted from life and made human. This is just an armature.

Nearly 10 years and 4,000 hours of footage later. Truly awe-inspiring.

HEROIC: the true inside look at the 9 1/2 years behind the scenes of how this sculpture was created and unfolded. It is a true miracle that fought many battles and wars to get past. The movie is exciting and a drama! I guarantee you will be on the edge of your seat for the full hour and a half!

What we make and who we are is inextricably connected to our rich history. And if you destroy that history and the idea of higher power, you destroy a part of each and everyone of us. You destroy our moorings and our grounding. that’s why I sculpted the national World War I Memorial. To fight the destroyers!

Dated a girl once whose father was a ship’s captain. She told me once he had a mild stroke and for 6 months he thought that he was a pirate. He’d sit staring out the window discussing pirate things. Real man stuff.

I recall now that he also spoke with a pirate accent during this period. Really interesting stuff.

Carmelite nuns are building a monastery designed to last 1,000 years! They are building their monastery using old-world methods including traditional stonemasonry and timber framing. Catholicism builds for centuries.

3/ Why Nashville, TN? As a center of Protestant intellectual life, and the decentralized networks which comprise the faith, Thiel believes that the Tennessee capital has a role to play in the future of the West, rejecting the centralization of the Catholic Church and global cities like New York and San Francisco.

A real pleasure to host another gathering last night for @meriwetheracdmy . It was our first workshop-format and I think it went really well. We have a men’s backpacking trip coming up Nov 21-22 and are soon to announce a very grand event in early December. Keep your eyes peeled!

Peter Thiel is worried about the Antichrist. For the last four Mondays, he held court for the latest of his lectures on that subject in, of all places, Nashville, Tennessee. @carsonjbecker reports on the lectures, the crowd, and the scenes that unfolded in Nashville.

Last night we hosted another fine group of gentlemen for our first anti-propaganda workshop in Nashville, TN. Led by Elijah Buffalino, President of the largest investigative agency in TN (@DelatorGroup ), we learned the playbook behind common strategic rhetorical devices and how they are used to manipulate people. In this workshop we: 1. Discussed the most frequently used devices (false dichotomy, appeal to emotion, whitecoating, etc) 2. Watched actual news clipping from prominent event in US history to see them in action. 3. Wrote out our own speeches and delivered them in front of the room to really get in the head of a politician with a motive. To top it all off we had a great meal together and enjoyed fellowship while sharpening our minds. Until next time! 🥂
