As part of our focus on ensuring disadvantaged communities are included in the clean energy transition, NYSERDA helped fund the project Peace Bridge Place in Buffalo. The battery energy storage system installed at the apartment building alongside the interactive energy management system, will store excess energy when it’s plentiful and power the building when the grid is strained and electricity is costly. 🔋 Peace Bridge Place will get paid by the utility for not drawing from the grid and for sending power back if needed. This helps lower the complex’s overall electricity costs, which benefits residents. 🔋The building can use the system during power outages, too. NYSERDA President and CEO, @Doreen_M_Harris, joined @JenMcDermottAP of @AP to discuss how the Peace Bridge Place project and smart energy management can strengthen multifamily building resilience while improving grid reliability: 🔗 apnews.com/article/batteries…

Stay warm for less this fall! 🍂🔥 Heat pumps are a more efficient way to heat (and cool) your home year-round, without using electric baseboards, or fossil fuels like oil, propane, and natural gas. That means comfort in chilly fall weather while using less energy! ⚡ To top it all off, NYS and energy providers offer rebates, financing options, and tax credits that can help lower the upfront cost of making the switch! 💵 Heat pumps are a smarter way to stay comfortable, and a step toward a clean energy future. 🔗 on.ny.gov/4enTpfA
