Notable incidents this year:
Ongoing / early 2026: Mass “CrimeEnjoyor”-style sweeper campaigns (started right after Pectra 2025). High % of delegations pointed to malicious contracts. Thousands of wallets affected.
July 23, 2026: PancakeSwap LP lost ~$2.96M after signing a malicious EIP-7702 authorization. Attacker drained liquidity and sent ~$1.46M to Tornado Cash.Phemex
~14 Oct 2026: sven.eth + ~120 wallets drained via signed 7702 delegations (smaller amounts; some funds later returned).
21 Oct 2026: Institutional loss of 973k MORPHO ($2.3M) involving EIP-7702. Funds to Tornado Cash.
29 Oct 2026 (today): Binance – by far the largest. Hot wallet(s) (Binance 14 + related) drained for multiple billions after a signed EIP-7702 delegation + sweep. Large stablecoin amounts frozen. Binance says user funds are safe and is investigating.
Broader research (USENIX etc.) shows over 60% of EIP-7702 authorizations have been linked to malicious activity.
What you should do:
Never sign an EIP-7702 delegation (or any unknown signature) from a site you don’t fully trust.
If you signed something suspicious → move everything to a brand-new wallet immediately.
Use a hardware wallet for larger holdings.
Check if your address is currently delegated (Etherscan shows code starting with 0xef0100 if it is) and revoke if needed.
Only follow official channels. Ignore DMs, “support” messages, and random claim links.
Regularly revoke old token approvals.
EIP-7702 is a powerful feature that turns an EOA into something that can run contract code. The Binance incident shows what happens when an attacker obtains a valid signature for a high-value hot wallet. It is not evidence that the Ethereum protocol itself allows arbitrary wallets to be drained without key control or a signature.
This remains a developing situation. The exact root cause (key compromise vs. signing-system issue vs. something else) has not been officially confirmed by Binance.

Yesterday, Goldman Sachs chose Avalanche.
Jerald David of @Lynq_Network explains why Avalanche’s multi-chain system is the only place where something like this can exist.
Avalanche L1s provide privacy, speed, customization, self sovereignty, and more, while maintaining interoperability with the larger network.
They named it Grok-Chan (or 그록) because it refers to the default pink-haired anime girl character on a viral Grokbot-style site that turns characters into cute, big-eyed minimal bot icons.
“Chan” is the Japanese honorific commonly added to cute female anime characters, so Grok + -chan became the mascot name for that aesthetic. The Solana meme coin launched around that trend and routes some fees toward the original artist’s GitHub
