ALT We found an eagle's nest on the monastery roof. Seems way too big to belong to the blue jay who told us about it. There's a hammer lying at the base. Could it be useful? It looks rusty. There were two birds in the nest: a mother and her chick, practically a full-grown eagle. Yet he's still hiding behind his mommy. They say a mother has a big heart... Maybe I should check?

ALT This utterly ridiculous creature is called Investigator Valeria, and it investigates murders. Though its very existence gives me a compulsive urge to commit a crime. It investigates so poorly, it's practically a gift to the killer. I’d suspect it of aiding the culprit, if Valeria weren't so hopelessly drunk and impossibly stupid. Crime in Baldur's Gate will be eradicated by a fit of laughter.

ALT No matter how many times I look, I cannot call this... youth? Handsome! Yet somehow, I just know it. As if... I knew him back then? In his youth? In mine? I recognize this gauntlet. I used to laugh at how pretentious it is. A poor boy who stumbled into riches with zero sense of measure or taste. He used to get angry. And I... stopped making fun of him? I know those crinkles around his eyes—from working so hard... Smart. Useful... I shouldn't know this. None of this ever happened to me!! So why do I find this face... strangely captivating? I hate this! Surprises aren't always pleasant.

ALT Commander Zhalk. As if the mind flayers weren't enough. Now this. Horned, winged, and holding a flaming sword! Such a sweet piece of loot would really come in handy. But it didn't look like the cambion was going to hand it over willingly. I didn't expect the cleric to be so useful. One gesture. One command. One sword on the floor! Hah! Now I want to learn a few cleric tricks too. Why can't bards do that? Unfortunately, the sword didn't really suit me. Had to give it to the githyanki.
