Far too often Christians talk as if we're just sinners who are: worthless. That is a lie we've believed & need to stop

Clarity in preaching requires intentionality from the first moments of sermon preparation until you say amen and humbly walk off the stage.

Clear preaching does not mean making the Bible simplistic. It means making God’s Word understandable to the people listening.

When we think about manuscript writing we might be able to summarize it like this: write the sermon beforehand and preach it naturally to others.

A short prayer during the day is still a meaningful conversation with God.

“Learning to pray doesn’t offer you a less busy life; it offers you a less busy heart.” -Paul E. Miller

Can someone let me know when the @chargers fire Mike McDaniel? I'm ready to enjoy watching a game again. #Chargers

Writing a manuscript protects the sermon from unfinished thinking. When preachers take the time to write out an illustration, they are better able to determine which details matter most and which ones can be left out.

Writing a manuscript forces the preacher to achieve clarity before entering the pulpit.

Dr. Rod Casey, a mentor of mine, likes to say, “You have to know what to leave on your desk so you don’t have to cut it in the pulpit.”

“Your first and most important step is to thoroughly study the passage. Spend the hours reading, taking notes, and learning all you can, so that you can say substantively, accurately, and confidently, “Look at what God is saying.” -Don Sunukjian
