I testified yesterday at a hearing, again about immigrants and crime. Nothing makes the Republicans more infuriated than pointing out that immigrants lower the crime rate.

This is actually huge news for law-abiding and legal immigrants.
Is the USCIS pause finally gone for good?
PM-602-0192/4 Update: News. In Red Eagle Law, L.C. v Edlow, Judge Breyer has granted, in part, our motion for preliminary injunction and motion for class certification.
What this means is that REL v Edlow plaintiffs AND CLASS MEMBERS no longer have to worry about what happens with Dorcas, because your relief from PM-602-0192/4 is now independent of Dorcas.
Big shoutout to REL v Edlow (CM665) plaintiffs, and our amazing team members and parters, because without each of you, we would not have been able to deliver this critical blow to the Trump administration. Congrats to all!🙌🥳👏

Losing this talent is a loss for the United States
NEW: Thirty U.S. senators have sent a letter to the U.S. Department of State, raising concerns and asking pointed questions about visa delays and appointment unavailability for foreign students.

The strength of America has never come from where people were born. It has come from the freedom to contribute. 🇺🇸🦅
As an immigrant, I don’t want people to support immigration because it benefits immigrants.
I want people to support the principles that made America what it is!
I came here because I believed in a country built on “freedom”, “opportunity”, and the “rule of law”
Those ideals attracted generations of immigrants who, in turn, helped build America’s businesses, universities, scientific leadership, and communities….
You are defending America’s founding principles @David_J_Bier !

2 months ago a judge ordered USCIS to stop illegally refusing to process a group of immigrants. Did @USCISJoe comply? No! Did he comply after a second court ordered him to process? No! He must now show cause for why he shouldn’t be held in contempt (by the court, too late for us)

“A recent #PhD graduate has been left without work authorization and payments for more than eight months after filing for #OPT in 2025. Since December, 2025, the individual has had no income and was ultimately forced to leave her apartment after exhausting available resources. Despite successfully completing a doctoral degree and securing a postdoctoral research position, she remains unable to begin employment solely because her work authorization has not been issued.
At the same time, her National Interest Waiver petition has remained pending for more than 20 months, further compounding uncertainty about their future.
The consequences extend far beyond personal hardship. The researcher was recruited to contribute to National agency-funded, patient-centered #Parkinson’s disease research at a leading academic #medical center. Every month of delay increases the risk that irreplaceable scientific data will be lost, slowing efforts to better understand and treat a devastating #neurodegenerative disease that affects millions of patients worldwide.
While the applications remain unprocessed, a highly trained scientist sits idle, a career remains on hold, and valuable opportunities to advance Parkinson’s disease research continue to slip away. This case illustrates how prolonged #USCIS delays can simultaneously devastate individual lives and hinder scientific and medical progress in areas of significant national interest.”

“His #STEM #OPT extension has been pending for more than eight months due to the #USCIS processing pause, placing his work authorization at risk as his #EAD approaches expiration. Despite complying with all immigration requirements, he faces the possibility of being forced to stop working.
He leads projects collectively valued at approximately $20 million, developing thermally conductive materials for #electric #vehicle #battery systems and automotive electronics. He is also actively involved in two pending U.S. #patent applications. An interruption in his employment would halt patent submissions, delay innovation, and risk the loss of valuable U.S. intellectual property.
According to his employer, replacing him in the short term would not be feasible without significant disruption. The USCIS delay therefore threatens not only his livelihood but also multi-million-dollar projects that support U.S. competitiveness in the electric vehicle and advanced manufacturing sectors.”
