SOAP: Save Our Adolescents from Prostitution nonprofit Seattle Chapter launch. In Seattle it’s also a law known as Stay Out of Area of Prostitution to exclude buyers and traffickers of commercial sex.
Seattle is #2 in the US for sex trafficked youth. Today The SOAP Project, Seattle Chapter launched at the epicenter of sex trafficking along Aurora. Save Our Adolescents from Prostitution, national non profit, takes community to motels and other commercial locations to educate about how to identify a trafficked person, help line phone numbers and missing children poster. The More We Love local nonprofit joined us as a safe place to get someone out of being trafficked.
There's a new version of this post

Not rocket science but I still don’t know why Seattle hadn’t built out progression steps towards more self sufficiency post treatment. (Maybe b/c policies don’t push to treatment enough.) So we’re doing it & my former Sonics co-worker is joining too @therealvinbaker 16 yrs sober.

Another way to view this is: those in power can prevent politically unconnected, low power people wanting to run for office, e.g., to use the most accessible way to get their word out: social media. It effectively disenfranchises candidates etc & helps incumbents or those with $.
I filed this case when I was Attorney General and won in the lower courts, so gratifying to see this result. As AG, I led the nation in bringing cases to enforce our state’s campaign finance laws. This victory represents the largest campaign finance penalty anywhere in the United States— ever. seattletimes.com/seattle-new…

Last night ~ 300 people joined together to march, standing up against sex traffickers, buyers and associated gunfire in the neighborhoods in North Seattle. Probably some pimps saw the organized event and what it was for. Let’s keep them on notice and take back the neighborhoods.
This matters no matter where you live in the Puget Sound region: march to stop traffickers and gunfire in North Seattle because tragically girls and women, from here and your area, are trafficked and brought here. 8:30pm-10:30pm tonight Oak Tree plaza start.

Ideas to reduce N. Aurora/ gunfire & sex trafficking: Mayor of Seattle ask Governor of Washington to call up National Guard to protect this ravaged corner of a world-class city — a World Cup host — from sex traffickers & gunfire because police still trying to hire more officers.
