It’s time. Alpenglow goes live on mainnet-beta Wednesday, October 21, ~14:50 UTC. 18 months of work for a migration that happens in one slot. Finality drops from seconds to ~150ms. Make sure to follow us @anza_xyz as we countdown to go-live. Details: anza.xyz/alpenglow

Solana just halved its target slot time. 400ms → 200ms 2.5 → 5 target slots per second 1.6s → 0.8s validator leader windows For perspective, Ethereum still runs 12-second slots. That's 60x longer per slot than Solana's new target. Solana's first full epoch averaged 218.3ms. We're now looking at more frequent transaction executions, quicker feedback, fresher onchain data for defi.. That's just block production btw. Alpenglow targets ~150ms finality. Not live yet. Solana will be the home of onchain finance.

Last time I spoke at Scale Or Die, I announced that we were working on XDP and scaling turbine. Today, the whole network runs on XDP. We've *halved* block times while *increasing* compute capacity. And we're just getting started.

Solana isn’t just chasing payments - it’s coming for capital markets. Its Delivery versus Payment (DvP) model enables assets and payments to settle simultaneously, with finality in seconds. The Token Supercycle in practice!
