> Democrats win midterms > instantly try to prepare a 15 BILLION aid package Fuck anyone who pretended Republicans and Democrats are the same or the republicans would be good for Ukraine
❗️Democrats in the US Congress are preparing a new military aid package for Ukraine of about $15 billion, which they may try to include in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) before the end of the current congressional session. They are also strengthening sanctions against Russia, prioritizing energy support for Ukraine, tightening control over Starlink services, and revising the Graham Act. Additionally, they plan to investigate the business interests of Trump’s envoys Witkoff and Kushner, according to the Financial Times.

the optimal dem strategy on gerrymandering seems obvious to me: we can end gerrymandering once and for all by passing a national ban in Congress. and tell Trump that if he vetoes it, we will move forward with our own gerrymanders in every state we just flipped last week
Reminder that Texas Republicans still won nearly 2/3rds of House seats especially losing the popular vote by 7%. Their gerrymander worked very well! Fair maps need to be pushed by Hinojosa

The Iran War was dumbly executed but at this point all they have to do is stay the course & Iran may eventually crumble. Quitting it now would be the ultimate blunder.

The Senate is still an extremely Republican-biased institution, for the record. Even if DC and Puerto Rico are given statehood it will be Republican-biased. If the midterms had been an equivalent landslide in the opposite direction, this would have been the result:

I've said this over and over and over again. Florida just voted to put the same crippling flaw in its tax system that California did in 1978. And not only will it destroy the state financially, it'll be really, really hard to ever undo. California is still suffering from Prop 13 with no end in sight.
Has anybody else realised yet that Florida voters decided to increase the property tax exemption by 500% and enact a cap in how much they can raise by each year? one bad hurricane and that state is going fucking bankrupt

And honestly it would be less annoying if in articles they didn't act stupid and pretend like the outcome isn't already decided. Their analysis is genuinely less useful because they refuse to even say that MS/AK are likely to elect democrats

On a similar note, the NYT needle sucked this year. Open for only a few hours and during those few hours it was horrendously lagging compared to Votehub or Kalshi.

The value that networks provide these days for race calls is nearing 0. Every cycle the media gets more scared to call a race or even say that a candidate is likely to win.

$67 million in Michigan. If El-Sayed weren’t such a money sink, we could’ve spent it in Louisiana (where we lost by only 25k) and Florida.
Final spending figures from Senate Majority PAC (D) and its affiliates: Iowa: $67 million Ohio: $150 million Maine: $65 million Michigan: $67 million Texas: $40 million Kansas: $14 million South Carolina: $750,000 Mississippi: $2.2 million
