The first line is the most dimwitted Christian platitude I've seen multiple times. The fact that you're making this claim suggests that you do know what the words "religion" and "relationship" mean. You're just refusing to acknowledge that your claim is literally incorrect.

Further, if a theist feels the need to separate their religion from the word "religion", as is the case here, they are acknowledging that religions in general have a bad reputation and the word carries a significant amount of unwanted baggage.
