Today, we will send a preference form to all NeurIPS authors. Please discuss your preferences with your co-authors and submit the form by September 30, 2026.
If your paper is accepted, your presenter and location preferences will help us allocate papers fairly across our three conference locations. Please note that these preferences are completely independent of the paper decision process.
Look for an email with the subject line: “NeurIPS 2026: Choose Presentation Sites for Your Paper.”

Calling AI Science Communicators: NeurIPS 2026 Education Track
We're inviting science communicators in AI to submit proposals to teach an emerging technical concept. Concepts can be any technical idea that has underpinned a large set of papers at top-tier AI conferences over the past year, from new architectures to training and alignment techniques to evaluation and reasoning methods. Think the 2026 equivalents of the Transformer, the reparameterisation trick, or LLM judges. You don't need to be the original author of the concept, just able to explain it with real clarity.
Accepted proposals must be paired with original teaching materials (code notebooks, demos or short videos) and will be presented as part of a full day primer in Sydney on 7 December 2026, ahead of the main NeurIPS conference. All materials will be gathered in an open repository, free for the community after the conference.
Submissions close 4 September 2026 AoE (Anywhere on Earth)
Submit via OpenReview: neurips.cc/Conferences/2026/…

To accommodate submissions that may require additional preparation time, the NeurIPS 2026 Creative AI Track is extending its submission deadline by one week, to August 10, 2026, Anywhere on Earth (AoE). For more information, please refer to neurips.cc/Conferences/2026/…
A clarification on the timeframe for rebuttals and author discussion, for all three tracks at NeurIPS 2026.
Rebuttals can be posted until August 3rd AOE. This includes any back and forth with the reviewers. The "rebuttal" button and "official comment" button will both be treated equivalently - the difference in terminology between the two is to facilitate discussion during the discussion period on OpenReview. This also means you are allowed to post several comments, with a total of over 10000 words.
Please post your answers to the Area Chair's initial-meta reviews via a comment from July 28th and by August 3rd, so that reviewers can see it too.
We emphasize that the entire period from July 27 through August 3 AOE is time for authors to respond to reviews, including with additional results or other responses to reviewers as applicable. It is your choice how you wish to divide this time into initial rebuttals and subsequent discussion with reviewers and ACs.
OpenReview Update: Due to a technical issue during release, we are currently re-releasing all reviews and initial meta-reviews, which we expect will take about 4 hours. Reviews will be temporarily unavailable during that time. Thank you all for your patience while we get all the reviews online!
The call for Social Events at NeurIPS 2026 is now open for Sydney, Paris and Atlanta! 📢
Have an idea that could bring the AI community together? We'd love to hear from you!
NeurIPS socials are community-led events that help attendees connect, exchange ideas, build collaborations, and create lasting memories beyond the technical program.
Submission deadline: September 5, 2026 (AOE)

📢 NeurIPS 2026 Call for Educational Resources is now open!
The NeurIPS 2026 Education Track invites researchers and educators to create accessible, reusable materials that teach emerging AI concepts to broad audiences.
We welcome submissions in many formats, including code notebooks, short videos, lecture notes, slide decks, interactive demos, visual explanations, and other self-contained learning resources.
Accepted submissions will be presented at the main conference in Sydney as talks or posters, made available through the NeurIPS website, and curated into the official NeurIPS 2026 Education Track repository.
🗓 Submission deadline: September 4, 2026 (AOE)
