Official statement: The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier , and those who he represents, plus the War Memorial above him are sacred ground. Treat it that way. We ask that his resting place be left alone, and left with the reverence one would expect for our fallen soldiers.

In this Canadian-German IRTG Collaboration, we show how prefontal visual responses encode saccade targets relative to visual landmarks in a configuration-dependent fashion. @vishal1782 @vistayorku @CentreforVisio1 @FB37024507 biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

An interesting contrast: while most neuroscientists work under the “all models are wrong but some are usefu” motto, physicists think that their laws are the bases of reality. Is this due to the different subject matter? Are the former too shy, or the latter too ambitious?

Preprint time! Visual scene context should always *aid* the perception of objects within that scene, right? Wrong! @flodlan @MariusPeelen and I show when & why context *hinders* perception in two online behavioural studies. Highlights below 🧵👇 1/7

How did neurons in prefrontal cortex evolve special firing properties, and how do single-neuron dynamics translate to the network level? Come work with us @BMI_WesternU and join an international team @YaleNeuro @nyuniversity in #compneuro! @Brains_CAN nxwm.io
Our Review is out now!!
Delighted our review of 20 years of research on the sound-induced flash illusion is out now in Neuroscience and Biobehavioral Reviews. Shout out to my fantastic collaborators @annalisa_setti @MultisensoryC and especially first author @HirstRj! doi.org/10.1016/j.neubiorev.…
it started as a small side project but now it’s all the lab does

To everyone doing a PhD: it's hard. It's hard in ways that aren't obvious until you are deep into a question. You may not even know the question until you answer it. You'll understand the question better than anyone but you won't realise that either. This makes it a lonely path.
