Refeeding syndrome - the demineralisation of bone to enable rapid growth leading to blood phosphate and calcium imbalance. Excellent study linking severe refeeding markers with poor outcomes and death. From Dr Barbara Cormack @AucklandLiggins #PSANZ2023

Interesting retrospective cohort study- in preterms chorio reduces the risk of ROP, but steroids and platelet transfusion (and 02 supp, expected) increased risk. Further work needed to understand what inflammation alone does to retinal growth factor production.
