Preparing Nevadans for in-demand careers takes colleges, employers and state agencies working together. That was a major focus of this week's Nevada Workforce Summit in Las Vegas, where leaders from across the state came together to discuss Nevada's workforce needs and opportunities. NSHE Chancellor @MattMcNair_NSHE joined state leaders to discuss how education, workforce and economic development efforts fit together. Natalie Brown and Marcia Turner contributed to conversations on educational attainment, Workforce Pell and healthcare workforce needs. College presidents Stacy Klippenstein, Amber Donnelli and Jeffrey Alexander also participated in panels highlighting partnerships, apprenticeships and workforce initiatives across Nevada. More than 50 NSHE attendees participated, representing all eight institutions: @unevadareno, @unlv, @NevadaStateU, @CSNCoyote, @tmccnevada, @WNCnevada, @gbcnevada and @DRIScience. NSHE Board of Regents Chair @scbgoodman and Vice Chair @cgdelcarlo were also among those attending, alongside Gov. @JoeLombardoNV, @repdinatitus and other statewide leaders. Thank you to @NV_OWINN, @DetrNevada, @WCNevada, @Nevadaworks and the many other partners who helped bring Nevada's workforce leaders together to strengthen career pathways and opportunities for Nevadans! 👏
