Last week, @NewPacific_ announced two major updates for the Carangas Project: the signing of the Administrative Mining Contracts (AMCs) and the upcoming 2026 drill program. The AMC signing followed the completion of the prior consultation process on July 6, which secured the required consent from the Carangas community and other regional stakeholders. Once approved by Bolivia’s legislature, the AMCs would provide a longer-term mining framework with a fixed 30-year term. A defined 30-year term gives project planners and potential financing partners a clearer timeframe to work with. This is not a final approval to build a mine. How do geologists choose where to drill? 🤔 One tool is induced polarization, or IP. It measures how rocks respond to a controlled electrical current. Areas with stronger responses are called chargeability anomalies. IP does not tell geologists exactly what is underground, but it helps them narrow down where to drill. At our Carangas project, the 2023 IP survey identified six anomalies. One of the smaller anomalies overlaps the drilled area hosting the current Mineral Resource. The others sit outside the known resource area and remain untested. The 2026 drill program will put selected anomalies to the test. In a recent interview with @peter_krauth, Peter Lekich walks through the phased development plan outlined in $NEWP's updated Carangas PEA. The proposed operation would begin with a silver-focused production period before transitioning to a silver-gold profile as the deeper gold zone comes online.
