How to fix the X algorithm for @elonmusk @x Most of this comes from Community deconstructions of the TikTok algorithm, which I have confirmed on my occasionally popular TikTok account. All of this can be done while preserving what is great about X, which, in my opinion, at its core, is the freedom of speech. Basic premises: Content is king. Individuals change and are uninteresting more than they are interesting. Great content can come from anyone anywhere. A social connection does not indicate common interests. The social network is a misnomer now. Platforms are social content delivery now. Platforms who understand this grow organically. X still thinks of itself as a social network. Here’s how you fix it. Implementation: The general feed almost ignores who you follow completely. There’s a separate tab for that, a tab which you will notice people rarely use. Any new content is pushed to ~250 plus anyone who follows you and has shown interest in your content who is currently online. If a certain threshold of likes is passed the content is promoted to the next phase. On TikTok this is roughly 15%. The next phase shows roughly 1000 accounts this content. If the 15% threshold still holds then the next phase is 5000 and then 50,000 with roughly an x^n+1 account visibility increase each phase. This surfaces is quality content while minimizing the damage of loyal followers liking posts simply because it’s on their feed and comes from someone they like. Simultaneously, its surfaces content with broad appeal, rather than zombie, clicked niche agendas. (Trends don’t emerge on X currently because a trend requires a shared reality, which has no place in the current X algorithm.) The next element is personalizing feeds by interest rather than person. X does a pretty good job of this, but still silo it within the VIP weights. The kinds of content that an individual likes or spends time on _should_ influence their algorithm, but with the very important caveats. Someone’s most niche interests should be 50% of someone’s feed. 20% should be more generally popular. 10% should be experimental and 10% should be purposely antagonistic. The longer someone scrolls, the more these shift to be less and less about their individual interest. 50% becomes 48% on refresh. Another refresh and it becomes 46% etc. Accounts that post often are punished in the general feed. This reduces the flow of garbage content. It’s far too easy to post on X to allow people to pull this trigger with no consequence. Multiple posts in the same hour may reduce your exposure by 10% each time. Rare posters are rewarded. If you post only once a day, you get a 5% boost. If you post once a week you get a 10% boost. New accounts are rewarded. New accounts get a 5% boost which tapers to zero after five posts. These are simple rules to fix the algorithm, but I have not addressed bots. Bots make numbers look good, but they create an inaccurate reflection of reality, which makes X unreliable. Reducing bots and implementing this content strategy will create a more accurate reflection of reality, truth, and bring new users. New users also make numbers look better. There are many ways to reduce bots, including analyzing like patterns and timing, but I won’t get into all of that here. Any social content platform, who is serious about eliminating bots can at any time, but I’ve yet to see one that is actually serious about it.

Bots are fighting a war against reality. Bots and sock puppet accounts are a global threat to truth. Truth is essential to the survival of the human race. There are infinite existential threats to humanity and that will always be the case. A civilization that blinds itself is stumbling forward in a jungle that is indifferent to its survival.

In a post scarcity world the only sustainable survival tactic as a species is to share the resources generated by the machinery of production. Right now only a few people own the keys to that production. We don’t need to get rid of capitalism overnight, but we do need to start planning a slow transition. This can take the form of shared ownership and companies, and companies that share. @elonmusk and @sama both understand the eventual sustainable destination and have spoken about it. The problem is neither have put forth a concrete plan. Sam has Worldcoin, but the actual plan needs to include existing government structures. There is a way to do it. We would create two money systems. The first would only be spendable on a list of basic necessities sold by the government. This money would also expire. You use it if you need it and it doesn’t help inflation because the government vertically integrate as much of the supply chain as possible. It’s important to not subcontract as much as possible because then it becomes corporate welfare. The second money system is the same traditional money system. It rewards capitalistic endeavor and allows people to buy non-essential luxury goods. Overtime more than more housing, food, products and experiences are available from the first money system. The idea is to continually increase the basic standard of living for all people as abundance grows. The two money systems also disentangled money from government. Overtime the second, traditional money system becomes less and less important. Over time one can buy nice vacations, rent time on yachts and have high-quality material possessions simply from the government UBI money. The government would also continue to pay its employees in the traditional money. This means people who work jobs, in private or public sector are still rewarded with more means than people without jobs. At some point in the far future, 100 years, 200 years, from now when abundance is so great that even luxury is available to everyone, the traditional money system will be seeing more as a hobby, like gambling. Self-worth will be defined by merit, personal accomplishments, and social markers, like sports and electronic games. Dating and status will be centered around these types of behaviors. When great projects need to be built, or expensive research done that would require civilizational effort people will speak in public forums and such projects will be voted on by the public. Eventually as humanity colonizes the stars government will fragment again, but until then we need a peaceful sustainable organization that prevents our civilization from self-destruction and that means including all humans in the singularity. At this stage in our development, where we all live so close together even a few unsatisfied people can mean the destruction of everyone. This is the way we can get through the great filter, firmi’s paradox and this most sensitive time in history. We need to focus on bringing the standard of living up, personal satisfaction, and mental health. This includes the mental health of the wealthiest individuals who subject their children to generational paranoia. It’s not about bringing the top down, it’s about bringing the safety net up. There is an element of sacrifice required by the psychotic and sociopathic wealthy individuals who would sacrifice that element of power, but it would only be temporary until humanity is out of the nest. Once humanity is spread into the stars these sadistic behaviors can continue without jeopardizing the species. Although, it will be a good idea to enact defenses against other solar systems firing near light speed projectiles at each other. An early warning system with barriers that can intercept these projectiles constantly kept near likely paths would be ideal.

You could probably write an algorithm that predicted which accounts are bots by posting time and writing style. Most of these accounts post at exactly the same time, get an initial roughly 130 likes and then follow up comments I replied to with a very similar style of writing. I would bet that the follow up comments are staggered because it’s the same person writing all the follow up comments.

This is their new thing is to make sock puppet liberal accounts that claim to hate Hasan Piker. They also want to tie this hatred to identity politics. In this video a “black man and trans” person are supposedly being called the cops on for being black and trans. It's like a South Park skit.
