One of my favourite parts of Halloween is eating toffee or chocolate apples! Just like the little boy in this illustration- another by Marylin Hafner. This one is from โThe Candy Witchโ by Steven Kroll (1979) #FairyTaleTuesday #illustration

In the 1920s and 1930s, American communities increasingly organized Halloween parties and supervised celebrations to discourage destructive pranks. The modern holiday's public festivities owe something to efforts to turn a troublesome night into organized fun. #FairyTaleTuesday
