Every time Anushka, Virat Kohli, or now Abhishek Sharma are seen doing devotion, temple visits, kirtan, or after making a century chanting Om Namah Shivay, people call it performative and start crying about don't bring religion in sports.
But these same people are either extremely devoted to their own God, religion or stan celebrities who do the exact same for a different religion without a single word of criticism.
When someone peacefully practises Sanatan Dharma (whether it’s Anushka at a kirtan or Abhishek after a hundred), it’s “performative.”
When people do the same in another religion, suddenly they’re considered better human beings

Every woman I spoke to said she was touched inappropriately by both male and female Delhi police/security officials as they marched the streets of Delhi to protest against the CEC in October. When India saw history being written, women were always a part of it. Why should this moment have been any different? The Indian women rose to demand justice alongside the men. But you must here what they were subjected for doing so. Detained beyond the night, bruised, slapped, abused and confined in areas outside of the national capital. Kept in isolation, no phones, no contact, no lawyers no access to washrooms. The abuse is over, but the scars remain. This mentally breaks the girls and they muster the courage to rise again. Of course, history cannot be written without them. In this documentary, we show the excesses of the Delhi Police in the name of lawful detentions, exactly how lawful were these “preemptive arrests” is the question that remains unanswered.
