Mr Polanski, I know you have a reputation for being scrupulous about checking your facts, but you’ve missed an important detail. My contract requires me to remain on leave from the Lords, surrender my parliamentary pass and forgo all access and voting rights for the duration of my employment at Palantir. I do not, therefore, take any whip. I fear this makes me rather less useful to the whips’ office than you imply.
It is beyond ridiculous that this man is still a life peer and retains the Labour whip.

Meghan’s apparently responsible for everything, so naturally people want answers! Why didn’t she save the dinosaurs, stop the Titanic sinking, or keep Destiny’s Child together? 😭 These tweets mocking the absurd expectations the haters and trolls place on her are absolute gold. 😂👏🏽

Yes, it’s fair to designate @TheGreenParty a racist organisation. And the damage to its reputation, evident in the party’s failure in Holborn & precipitous decline in poll ratings, will take a long time & much effort to unwind.

In the letter that Meghan sent to Thomas Markle Snr when he was in hospital in the Philippines, she told him that she knew he was a child abuser, that this was the last time he would hear from her, and that he would never see his grandchildren. TM Jnr says sorry to Meghan…

Under the Green Mayor Lewisham has lost a £1.5bn town centre plan. 1,700 homes. A park the size of a Premiership pitch. A music venue. 300+ trees. Approved under Labour. Shaped by 2,500+ residents. Landsec says the Greens’ refusal to back the next phase is part of why.

Vote Green for urban decay and housing shortages in every postcode.
Landsec has pulled out of its £1.5bn investment in Lewisham shopping centre, citing Mayor @LiamShrivastava's Green administration's lack of support. 300+ affordable homes, jobs, a park and a music venue: gone. Our Group Leader @Ese_Journo has written to the Mayor 👇

Excl: A Green party activist who praised Iran’s former supreme leader for his “integrity and decency” and who is part of a campaign expressing solidarity with the Islamic republic helped to pass the party’s controversial anti-Zionism policy, The Times can reveal. Niloufar “Nilly” Brook backed the “Zionism is racism” motion adopted at the Greens’ conference, has appeared in videos with Greens for Palestine and been praised by group members. But she separately praised Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s former supreme leader who was killed in a joint US-Israeli strike in February. She said that “the legacy of Khamenei has that sort of integrity and decency”, that he had been “heavily demonised” in the West and had “died with honour”. Khamenei ruled Iran from 1989 and presided over the violent suppression of protests. Brook was also involved with Iran’s Resistance Rising, whose social media profile declared “solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran and the resistance in their fight against imperialism”. She interviewed activists for the group, including at a protest outside RAF Fairford in August. In April Brook promoted the Iran–UK Allies Forum in a video opposing the proposed proscription of the IRGC. The forum separately defended the Iranian authorities’ response to January protests in which thousands were killed. Executions of people convicted in connection with the protests continued this month. Brook said: “All of my actions are in support of diplomatic communication in an attempt to transcend the volatile, divisive rhetoric that is both short-sighted and dangerous.” Asked about her praise for Khamenei, her relationship with Iran’s Resistance Rising and her role in shaping Green party policy Brook said: “I’ve said what needs to be said and I’m very busy.” thetimes.com/article/e079443…

Going against the official party policy - respect to them for doing what’s right and recognising the impact on British Jews. What will GPEW do next - accept the positions of MPs and Cllrs denouncing the policy, or expel them for breaking the democratic policy process?
LATEST: The Green group in West Suffolk is also rejecting the motion. Cllr Julia Wakelam & Cllr Dylan Roques, the only two Green members of the West Suffok Working Partnership, say in a letter to the Labour leader to Cliff Waterman that they don't support ZIR in its unamended form as "we cannot support what would effectively end the two state solution". However, they say they "strongly object to the implication that we and our Party are antisemitic, an insult you know to be untrue. Conflating Zionism with Judaism is itself antisemitic."

🟢Splits emerging in how local Green Groups are responding to Labour’s ultimatum on the ZIR motion, with some rejecting it and others refusing to do so. The national party is leaving it up to local councillors to decide how they respond. Critics include the Rother Green Group, who say they want to work with the party’s national executive “towards rescinding and rejecting” it. They say it doesn’t reflect their values and a two-state solution “is the only workable route for peace”. The Lewes Green Group of councillors have also said they don’t support the motion, although they have criticised Andy Burnham for putting them in this position given his record of promoting collaborative politics. Understand lots of Green Cllrs opposed to the motion feel this way, feeling as though they haven’t set similar moral red lines about national Labour policy when they easily could have, in order for local government to continue to function. Some Labour figures have also privately told me they blv the party HQ has overstepped, saying it puts councillors between a rock and a hard place in areas where it could cripple their ability to do anything if power sharing collapses. Those who have refused to reject the motion incl Derbyshire Dale Greens and Sheffield Greens. In Sheffield, MP Clive Betts plays down the impact this could have on local residents, telling me it was a "lose arrangement anyway". He said:“It was already fragile and in the end councillors have a responsibly to pass a budget, just because you are not in a power sharing agreement doesn’t absolve you of that.” Elsewhere discussions are ongoing. In Broadland deputy Labour leader Natasa Harpley says she is in conversation with the Green group and her priority “is the continued success of our partnership, that is delivering fantastic services for our local residents”.
