Search and rescue operations are ongoing at the site of the building collapse in Eastleigh. Two injured people have been taken to Kenyatta National Hospital. Of the people reported missing, 26 have now been traced and accounted for. Our teams remain on site with multi-agency partners. A tracing desk at the site is open for families looking for loved ones. For support, call our toll-free line 1199.

The Ministry of Health mourns the death of a 65-year-old woman who was receiving care for Bundibugyo Ebola and extends heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and community. Seven patients continue to receive care. All nine cases remain within one cluster, with no evidence of community spread.

Caution, may we kindly request for no political rallies on therapy clinic days, caregivers fear the risk and children with disabilities won't access essential rehabilitation services.

Must be really into my space for not realizing a whole political rally going on in my town 😕

At a time when fewer people are able to sit down with a book, it’s important to remember the joy and power that can come from reading. And some books don’t just tell a story – they change the way we see the world. That’s why I’m excited to share my latest podcast from @Audible_com and @HGMedia, A Great Book with Barack Obama.

Make families aware of the available options and services. Curbing misinformation and discrimination.
In Kenya, #women with #disabilities are still sterilised without consent. In East Africa, three times more likely. Globally, the UN calls it a rights violation. #DisabilityPrideMonth demands: 1️⃣ End forced sterilisation. 2️⃣ Accessible #SRHR in every county. 3️⃣ Scrap early marriages. #Hesabika #MamaSiri #SRHRplusD #A11y #DisabilityInclusion #LeaveNoOneBehind #AccessibilityMatters #TheWorldWorksBetterWithUs

Kenya has launched the Disability Mainstreaming Policy together with its implementation guidelines for the Health sector. This policy is a positive step in providing a framework to enhance Disability Inclusion across Kenya’s health system, by addressing barriers therefore ensuring better access to quality healthcare for persons with disabilities. The right to the highest attainable standard of health by persons with disabilities is protected by the Constitution, Persons with disabilities Act, 2025, Health Act, the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), Africa Disability Protocol (ADP) and other human rights frameworks. The Ministry of Health led the development of the policy through a consultative process which included persons with disabilities and their organisations (OPDs), disability focussed organizations, county governments and other stakeholders. The Policy Implementation Guidelines have set targets including; 1. Ensuring accessible communication to all service delivery points, 2. Advancing Disability inclusion in health promotion, early identification of disability, rehabilitation, mental health referral services. 3. Disability inclusion in maternal and child health, immunization, nutrition, prevention and management of non-communicable diseases, sexual and reproductive health and emergency health services. 4. Adequate rehabilitation services Assistive technologies. 5. Advancing employment of persons with disabilities in health care at national, county, community levels. 6. Involving persons with disabilities in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. The ministry committed to review the training curriculum for Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) and counties also committed to setting up Disability Mainstreaming units to coordinate disability inclusion across the devolved functions in the health care system. There is focus on meaningful engagement of persons with disabilities and their organisations (OPDs) as we move to implementation. As OPDs, we have our work cut out in monitoring implementation as per the targets set in the Implementation Guidelines for the Policy. #InclusiveHealth @MOH_Kenya

Humans do that to other animals. We act like we do not care. Caring for the planet and recognising that we are not here alone is very important for all species – at Masaka, Uganda

Dear Ruto, Before you board your flight tomorrow to escape today’s shame, (pretty sure your team is already scouting on where you can go next..) I hope every single day reminds you that millions of Kenyans no longer want you leading this country. You can spend our taxes on incentives, patronage, and attempts to buy loyalty, but you’ll eventually learn what Bob Marley meant when he said, “Some people are so poor, all they have is money.” WANTAM!!

Ultimately disability inclusion in church looks like: Rejecting stereotypes Restoring dignity Restoring identity Restoring humanity Intentional inclusion is removing the barriers, our attitudes about people with disabilities is the biggest barriers.

The Lord's table is wide enough for everyone, the Lord's table is incomplete without everyone. Captured from Luke 14: The lord's bouquet inviting all to come and dine with Jesus. #RadicalInclusion #IntentionalInclusion
